The atmosphere in Tunisia is quite different than in Western countries. The Tunisian lifestyle is laid back, relaxed, and simple - especially in comparison to the hectic humdrum of everyday American or European society.

Although it is considered a Middle Eastern country, Tunisia is perhaps, in its own ways, the most Westernized country in the Arab world. It has been paving the way to equal women's rights among fellow Islamic countries.

This small, often unrecognized country does not receive all the credit it deserves in progressively moving forward with the mentalities and lifestyles of its people while managing to maintain traditional cultural values and customs. The open-mindedness and acceptance of its people really allows potential for ethnic, linguistic, and religious diversity, in addition to fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere for visitors from all parts of the world.
